The BIAD project has officially started!

On 3–4 February 2026, project partners from across Europe gathered in Rome for the Kick-Off Meeting of BIAD – AI-Enabled Skill-Building for Tourism and Hospitality: Bridging the Industry–Academia Divide.

During two intensive and inspiring days, partners:

  •  presented their organisations and expertise

  •  aligned on project objectives, methodology, and governance

  •  explored WP2 (needs analysis & skills gap mapping) and WP3 (training and curriculum development)

  •  discussed management, financial, and dissemination strategies

  •  engaged with external stakeholders and shared best practices

The meeting marked a key milestone in launching a strong collaboration between higher education, VET providers, enterprises, chambers of commerce, and public bodies, all working together to strengthen digital, AI, and sustainability skills in the tourism and hospitality sector.

With a shared vision and a clear roadmap, BIAD is ready to bridge the gap between education and industry and support a more innovative, inclusive, and resilient tourism ecosystem in Europe.
