AKTM Brings Together Tourism Leaders, Academia and Industry Experts for the BIAD Project Workshops in Antalya

On 12 June 2026, Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism (AKTM) successfully organised stakeholder workshops in Antalya within the framework of theErasmus+ project AI-Enabled Skill-Building for Tourism and Hospitality: Bridging theIndustry–Academia Divide (BIAD).

The workshops brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including academics, tourism professionals, technology experts and representatives of public institutions andsectoral organisations, to discuss the future skills needs of the tourism and hospitality sector.

The workshops were moderated by İrem KARAKAŞ, Project Coordinator at AKTM. Duringthe sessions working in groups, participants identified emerging competence needs, prioritytraining areas and opportunities for strengthening collaboration between academia andindustry. The discussions generated valuable insights into current skills gaps and futureworkforce requirements, which will contribute directly to the BIAD project's needs analysisactivities.

A special welcome message was delivered online by the BIAD Project Coordinator, Luca REITANO from Forma Camera (Italy), who highlighted the importance of stakeholdercontributions in shaping future education and training solutions for the sector.
