Inside BIAD – 14 partners, one shared ambition
Behind BIAD are 14 partner organisations, each bringing its own expertise, networks and experience to the project. Through this series, we introduce the partners shaping BIAD and the people who turn their organisations’ expertise into concrete project work.
Based in Greece, AKMON S.A. is a technology-oriented SME specialising in the design and development of products, applications and advanced technological solutions. Through its Research and Development Department, the company works across ICT solutions, software and hardware development, cybersecurity, digital platforms and technological infrastructure, often in cooperation with international partners.
Within BIAD, AKMON acts as both a technical partner and a market actor, bringing this technological expertise directly into the implementation of the project. Its main responsibility is the design and development of the BIAD training platform, which will provide the digital environment through which the project's learning resources and training tools can reach professionals in the tourism and hospitality sector.
This contribution is mainly embedded in WP4 – Upskilling the tourism and hospitality sector through learning content and training tools. AKMON works with the other partners to translate the project's pedagogical and user requirements into a functional digital platform adapted to the needs of its target audiences. Its involvement therefore extends beyond software development alone: the team also contributes to digital literacy activities, platform deployment, technical support and cooperation with partners throughout the development and testing phases.
Behind AKMON’s contribution to BIAD is Erato Katerina Zouroufidou, EU Project Manager and the organisation’s Project Lead for BIAD. With several years of experience in EU-funded projects, Erato combines project coordination and implementation monitoring with expertise in communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement. Her previous work has included coordinating activities across international consortia, managing visibility actions and building connections between European project results and relevant stakeholder, research and sectoral communities.

Within BIAD, Erato ensures that AKMON’s technical contribution remains closely connected to the wider project objectives. In practice, this involves internal planning, liaison with consortium partners, monitoring AKMON’s tasks, supporting reporting activities and contributing to overall project coordination. Her role provides the link between the technical development undertaken by AKMON and the collective work of the consortium, helping to ensure that the platform is developed not as a standalone technological product, but as a tool responding to the project's learning objectives and to the needs identified by the partnership.
