BIAD

Building Intelligence through AI & Data

BIAD is an Erasmus+ Alliance for Education and Enterprises initiative designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry in tourism and hospitality. We build future-proof digital and AI skills through adaptive curricula, hybrid learning experiences, and cross-border collaboration across Europe.

what makes Biad different

1. AI-driven adaptability

At the core of BIAD lies an AI-powered skills monitoring system that analyses industry needs and trends, helping training programmes remain updated and aligned with real-world demand. This enables education to evolve with the labour market—rather than lag behind it.

2. Future-proof skills frameworks

BIAD integrates AI, data analytics and sustainability principles into training, aligning learning outcomes with EU competence frameworks such as DigComp, EntreComp and GreenComp, and supporting cross-border recognition through a Europass-compatible certification approach.

3. Modular learning & micro-credentials

BIAD delivers a modular training platform with stackable micro-credentials, hybrid learning models, gamified experiences, and interactive digital tools. The approach is learner-centred and designed to be practical for students, educators and working professionals in tourism and hospitality.

What is bIad?

BIAD (AI-Enabled Skill-Building for Tourism and Hospitality: Bridging the Industry-Academia Divide) is a transnational initiative that creates sustainable cooperation between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Vocational Education and Training providers (VETs), SMEs and industry actors, Chambers of Commerce, and public institutions.

The project responds to a structural skills gap in the sector—especially regarding digital transformation and the integration of AI technologies—by producing modern learning content and tools that are market-relevant, inclusive, and scalable across EU contexts.

OPEN RESOURCES &
LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY

BIAD will provide an e-learning platform maintained by partners during and after the project, enabling the delivery of training activities and learning content.

A significant part of the materials will be released as Open Educational Resources (OERs) under Creative Commons licensing, supporting transferability, adoption and continued use beyond the project lifecycle.

The sustainability strategy combines open access with structured exploitation pathways, ensuring that outcomes remain updatable, scalable and institutionally embedded over time.
